You should raise the contrast on the wood objects,
They fade into the background compared to the hay.

Jocher, your gallery is full of great works, but they all lack contrast. You really should pay more attention to that, and use colors that have more difference between each other.

off-topic remark: i did a fine arts academy last year and i'm constantly reminded here at pixeljoint how much oil on canvas and pixelart are alike... my still-life teacher (who was the only one to teach us oil in the first year, the rest stuck to charcoal) was constantly telling me that i was usuing over saturated colours, i was thinking in gradients and should be thinking in planes and especially that i should use more contrast which are exactly the same critique i get here. i've found that my work in both fields improves by learning about the other, so i'd say it's great you paint with a brush in 'real' life, but don't use it ass an excuse, you can get better at both if you're open to the critique they give you here.

which brings me to my on-topic remark: i wholeheartidly agree with lucas-irineu. the lack of contrast makes your picture heard to read. i like the fact you're doing a monochromatick piece, but that doenst mean there cannot be contrast.

I did a quick edit just to show you how it would look like with more contrast.

I dunno, I think the lower contrast suits the piece.

I agree. I think the palette is perfect currently.

However, you should change up your use of the palette. Think of the piece in planes. There's the back wall (last), the stuff pushed right up on it (2nd to last), the hay (2nd to front), and the barrel in front of the hay (front).

Currently all of these planes are shaded with the same usage of palette. Try changing it up, as things in the back won't use the brightest shades just like things in the front won't use the darkest shades.

It'll help add depth to it.

I'll make an edit if I just completely confused you. ; ~;
