I had submitted this just recently, but it got rejected, so it could apperently use some improvement. ![]() Any suggestions? This was one of my first attempts at pixel art, so I was (and am) still working at a relatively small resolution. It was also my first attempt at dithering, and I did not have any particular set pattern for it. It does have a bit of an odd viewpoint, but it is supposed to be looking up the side of a giant pillar, rather then looking directly at a mountaintop. I know this is an issue, because it initially started as a mountaintop, and eventually I had decided it looked better as a pillar. ![]() Thanks in advance. |

use the tree icon to show your images @rundo: why would that matter? If you're going for a foreshortened pillar, than your foreshortening is way off (assuming the circle is part of the pillar), and your pillar is pretty bland. Circle looks like it's made with the circle tool. Either way it's not as round as it should be. To be honest, pretty much everything about the image is boring and simple. It seems your problem is that you didn't have a clear idea of what you wanted to make when you started. I'd scrap this, get an idea, then try to execute it. |

Hmm, I've got a few ideas to maybe add a bit of flavor to this, so I'll play with it a bit and take another swing at it later. And I was using paint at the time of this picture, yes.
And to make sure, foreshortening is perspective right? Vanishing points and all that? |

Scratch that, I've decided to rework the point of view, among other things.
If the piece is still of the same actual object, just from an admittedly drastically different point of view, should I close this thread, or can it still be used for the piece? Edited by Seriyu - 18 April 2010 at 9:46pm |
