CHALLENGE: Noise Inhaler

Design an original, non-humanoid creature that inhales sound energy as a means of sustenance - that is, it consumes sound in a similar manner that humans consume food.

You may present this creature as a standalone sprite or integrate it into a scene, if you like.

Optional Bonus Challenge: Give us some background info on your creature in your description :)

Not exactly sure what to make of this :)

Added some texture. I'll probably, most likely, animate it once I figure out how it eats.

Hmm, I might want to restart from scratch. I was concentrating on the 'consumes sound' part, without paying much attention to... anything else :D

I've actually got an idea for that- a planet-sized 'creature' that thrives off its inhabitants' noise! :)

Nope, your creature doesn't necessarily need to consume sound via inhalation; I just thought that would make a cool title Sorry if I misled anyone.

I got a new WIP here! But probably it is finished. Any comments?

So, that's what I got: 18 colors, animation and transparency. I guess it's time to submit, I won't make it better anyways, as far as I'm experiencing lack of time.

"Well, the concept of this creature is that he absorbes sound with its skin and accumulates it in its shell on the tale, just like a camel uses its hump. This shell is also used to hurt enemies, just like these little horns on the creature's forehead. The crystal indicates his level of charge. When it's out of food, which is sound, the crystal goes red, and it's blinking when the level is low. Consequently, green means OK. Moreover, it can produce supersonic itself with these little dots, or pores, under the crystal. Also, this creature moves like a worm due to its shape."

One gargantuan ear, coming right up!

A froug contains millions of strings inside its mouth. When a sound is emitted, whichever string with the same pitch will vibrate due to harmonic vibration. Sometimes, so many strings vibrate at once that the whole mouth will vibrate. When the string vibrates, it creates friction along special tissues that produce electricity. This electricity pumps its blood and gives it energy much like the human heart sending electric pulses.

The Treblemaker

Floating into bedrooms in the middle of the night...
He waits for you to scream and shout at his very sight...
Consuming all eery noises with his tongue, the way do our ears...
He feeds off all your dread, all your fear, and all your tears...
The only way to rid yourself of this foul beast of nature...
Is to watch him pass without making a sound, that vile treblemaker...

Mmk...admittedly, I don't know exactly how to put this in the competition... I also don't know if the date shown is the last day to enter, or doesn't allow anymore entries that day!... Sorry for being a noob...but I made the sprite as soon as I saw the competition today with using 3 colors (including the white), and made a poem along with it!... ^_^
