#5

the delay between wings flapping down and body moving up looks most natural and the movement feels lighter than in #2 which feels a bit heavy, like a big bird

number 5 is the best, tho maybe for a more bat like feel make it a little bit faster and maybe make the overall up + down motion one pixel less or so

I think number 5 is good, but it needs a bit of delay in its motion cycle. Right now, the vertical movement looks completely in sync with the movement of its wings. Wings go down, bat goes up. Wings go up, bat goes down.

There should be a delay, as it takes a little while for the bat to get upwards momentum each time it flaps its wings. As the bat falls down, he begins to flap his wings downward. Maybe his wings would need to be fully horizontal before he had enough upwards momentum to actually fly.

Does that make sense?

What about these two?

Thanks Onek, I tried speeding it up, your second suggestion led to no success as the gif software I'm using mixed with Gimp just leads to headaches.  Spent 40 minutes just trying to lower the motion 1 pixel to no avail lol.

Thanks CELS also, I think I understand what you're saying.  Perhaps one of these two are a bit closer to what you mean?

They're all messed up in terms of location so I can't give you a number.
Definitely speed them up. Although I will tell you there's only one that is
actually a bat flying from flapping it's wings, the others the bat is just
moving it's wings. :-)
