I'm in the X-COM mood right now (as in, been playing UFO in my spare time AGAIN), so here's a TFTD wip :)
Yeah, another aquanaut is done for... but I still haven't started drawing his murderer :( Can you guess what will happen to him? :D *update* Edited by Mrmo Tarius - 08 October 2012 at 4:03am

| Fantasized and decided to do this scene: alien invaders set a bomb in the depths of the ocean, and one brave man in a hurry to defuse the bomb. | |

Does it have to be related with the game or is it up to us to invent the whole thing ?

 Repositioned the vile beast.
Also, for reference purposes, this is the ion armor the aquanaut is using. Not that it helps him much. *update* Okay, the aquanaut had a friend. Not that she helped him much. Edited by Mrmo Tarius - 09 October 2012 at 3:56am

Looks great Mrmo. I think the ground texture is a little too busy though. And maybe you could make the friend fighting off the other one in the distance. Edited by Mr.Fahrenheit - 09 October 2012 at 6:33am

Well, I don't know if I'll have time to make it THAT big, but here's a dude launching a torpedo. My guess is, it won't help much :)

Maybe add a swarm of approaching octopuss (fading into the distance) follwing the background one?
Btw. UFO was one of my favourite games on the Amiga. I downloaded "Terror from the deep" not long ago...but it would just run too fast & buggy on the PC so I couldn't play it :(

Hehe, it can run very good via DOSbox, I play both UFO and TFTD that way. Got them on Steam for like 50 cents a pop O_O

Nothing's wrong with the rock but I'd improve the man.

Here is an edit for ya! Okay, so I think what your piece needs most is contrast. All the tones are about the same value, change them up a bit. On my edit, I just dropped the darkest color a bit and increased saturation a bit and it gives the rocks a much harder feel instead of blurry-nes. Secondly, the AA on the tentacles isn't applied correctly. AA isn't an outline, it's more of blending the edges. Every time the outline changes direction, you add the AA color to the edge to blend it. It's hard to explain in words, you might be able to figure it out form the edit. Finally, your piece has 15 colors while the requirement is 13. There are two easy colors that you could merge together. The black on the man could be merged with the darkest rocks after you add the contrast, and the AA on the man could be merged with the second darkest rocks. This should get you down to 13 colors and you will be able to submit to the challenge. I really like your work, good luck in the voting! Edited by Adcrusher524 - 13 October 2012 at 6:51pm

| Messed with the colors (Contrast, reduced it to 13 as well) and a couple minor changes. | |
