I've started making my own 2d classic style platformer, and I'm planning on doing the art for it myself. So before jumping right into it, I thought I would try to first develop my art skills, and learn how to make good pixel art.

This is my first piece, and still pretty early work. It's all done in grey scale, and I've just quickly put colorize masks so you can see the parts better as I don't have any outlines (which is the style I want to try and use for the platformer game.)

I don't have the best shading, which I hope to improve as I do more work. Any recommendations there would be very appreciated. I'm not sure what else I'm lacking, which is why I'm posting here, to get other people to look at my work, and possibly point out something, or give me some C&C.
