So, I'm working on this tree and I'd like some advice on how I'm shading the tree. The three groups of leaves are what I shaded so far, but they seem a bit off to me.

Try having your clumps of leaves in circular bunches. It looks more natural.
It's good that you have drawn out the interior branches and general shape. The colors are alright. Could use a little more contrast. And have the branches that the light is being blocked by the leaves even darker than they are now. Also, are you using any references? Be sure to post them, or start using them. |

Thank you or the feedback! I will work on the contrast and the shading of the tree trunk more.
Also, I haven't been using any references, so I'll try to start using one. It's such a simple thing, silly I didn't think of using one. I will edit this post when I have the updated tree. EDIT: Dropping this for now.. other things I want to work on, but I will use the advice here in my future works. Edited by Oriena - 12 July 2013 at 11:33am |
