When we hear it's 'finished' we assume you just want comments with "that rox!!! Good job lol" or something... unless this actually is a wip lol.

The man's face could use at least some highlights. Right now he looks too soft and almost like a wrinkled piece of fabric because he's just got those deep furrows and midtone spread across his face. And I'm really not a fan of the red eyes. If they were bloodshot, that'd be fine, but the full on red (again with no highlights or even reflected light... :\) doesn't look good at all to me.

The guy at the bottom is pretty good though. The only thing that I'm not liking with him is how linear the smoke is coming from his pipe. The bottom edge of it is practically a straight line and that one spot where it expands into that little cloud could have a few broken off clouds. Perhaps less contrast on the smoke would make it feel more smokelike as well.

Good job there man. The faces look drug induced somehow....I think the top left guy would smell kinda bad. I like the general image as a whole but the scorpion doesn't really fit in...

Whooooa, that's cool. Only thing I'd suggest on top of what blick said is that the drop looks peculiar falling at an angle.

wooo finally got time to update (or rather motivation).

-added subtle ambient lighting on tree trunk
-redid foliage of tree
-coloured bottom green face some
-changed the red drop to a blue drop
-fixed the blue drop that was falling strangely

think thats it.

@jalonso: i think it needs a suitable background too. the only question is what is suitable..?
@Blick: thanks muchly for the indepth crit :D I agree with you about the red eyes. Still don't know what to do about them. I've found that adding a highlight to the face doesn't really do anything for it, if you'd fancy trying an edit i'd be grateful. Regarding the smoke - it was meant to be a cloud rather than smoke. perhaps the angle that its on makes it look less cloudlike.
@P_O: only mugs do drugs and i'm no mug :P. i agree with you on the scorpion, don't know what to do with it though.
@Saboteur: didn't see that drop either. thanks dude.

urgh. wanna keep going. more c&c is always nice ;)

Whaaa, I need to come to this forum more often to not miss a great piece like this one.
About the red eyes: Is it important that the eyes are opened? If not, maybe they could be closed and sewn up.
Mmh... suitable background... maybe something abstract? A realistically drawn background would probably take away the attention from the creatures in the foreground, so filling up the background with large irregular forms following the general flow of the foreground objects could be worth a try.

hmm interesting idea Dennis. You just gave me some very disturbing inspiration for the eyes :D
i'm still pondering on the background. I'm thinking obscure silhouettes. anything too coloured and interesting would distract the viewer from the main piece. another idea would be a dithered cloud like background such as in helms piece: http://www.pixeljoint.com/pixelart/6661.htm
