![]() Trying to catch medieval russian roots on this wip. The main problem to solve for me now is ground handling, gray filling under snow definetly doesn't look really cool. In this case, the limit of colors, which I used to doesn't count , makes the task pretty interesting. |

![]() Not much time left, but still worth trying. A very rough sketch, without colors even. |

I'm not very good at choosing colors even (I think a bit like everyone). I have not used any references, but I wanted to convey a gloomy environment, desert, where the church and insquisición were prevailing. I started working on this palette:
![]() That it had reminiscent of the work of Kentaro Miura, Berserk. But I realized that even the colors do not work well, everything seemed a gradient of a gradient. I started to read, color great forum posts, and I opted for using palette DB32. As the color change was made retrospectively and not I started working with these colors, it may have affected the final result. But even so, I am quite satisfied with the result: ![]() I'll still have some time to polish. I am open to criticism or suggestions. |

My goal was to stick to a 8X8 driven map, inspired in the graphics from the first half of 80's I'm somewhat starting, and for that colors problem...do you think good idea to profoundly study : http://pixeljoint.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=5692 besides : http://pixeljoint.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=10695 And of course that great deal of artistic manuals over there |
