I also kind of feel pressured with the 7-day time for reporting stuff, I can't always post within that time period due to the aforementioned things and just generally forgetting to let you guys know. I know that in the past this was instead two weeks rather than just one, could someone remind me why the time was reduced to 7 days again?

90% of the people (who don't make their tile within 24 hours of reservation) forget that they have a reservation in 14 days. Even the people that drop by PJ every day. I've been doing this collab management thing for over 6 years and I can't emphasize it enough. I can say it's the only problem of managing the collabs. Chasing deserters is something nobody likes to do and it's too time consuming. On top of all, other participants get often demoralized because of deserters.

The reality is that you can make a (more or less complete) tile in like 2-3 hours. I could actually reword the rule to 3 days, as in Pixelation's collabs, and almost nothing would change for the participants except two things. 1- It would be too time consuming for us and we would have to make it a yearly event and 2- We would have to remove the feedback and interactivity that some people need (hence stop being a collab that's beginner-friendly). So I've set it to 1 week. Nobody even noticed this until you did. :)

What I'm expecting is people to reserve a tile whenever they have (a little) time to work on it, and finish it before it becomes a burden for you. This thing is mainly for your enjoyment, so take it like this: Do you want to make some pixel art and you're not sure what to do? Come here and participate in the collab, if you wish get some feedback from the fellow participants, or just send the finished product if you don't want. At the end of the collab you'll have a great image to show to your friends :)

@Eggy: Do you think you're going to work more on your tile? I tried waiting another week since you last posted, otherwise I have a neat idea for that space.

Or meanwhile you could crown the collab with a beautiful #8 :)

The ship is small besides being child-sized. Character sprites should also be smaller than usual.

Ah, I just came back after remembering that I still had my tile that I wanted to do! I wanted to post my next WIP that I had so far but I guess I'm too late now that Reo seems to have taken the charge... I'll post it here anyway.

Your tile looks so much better than mine Reo :')

Ah, didn't mean to step on your toes Eggy.
Your tile could still fit into 54, 37, 19!

Eggy if you want to keep working on it, why not try 54?

I really don't know to be honest... I'd likely have to undo/redo quite a bit of the tile as the treasure chest ship and its crew were created with the tile being an edge tile in mind (and for me the ship was the hardest part), and because a regular tile is smaller the whole motive just barely doesn't fit and appears to be really crammed

(how it would look if I tried to insert it as is)

My only other choice without dropping my tile or having to start over would be either tile 4 or 8 as those are also outer tiles that offer a body of water and thus they offer more space for the motive to breathe (but they also have stuff that I'll have to continue somehow), but you didn't mention either of them as tiles that mine could fit into so I have no idea what you think of that...

But note that outer tiles will require you to draw a lot more. Furthermore I think your concept is blending much much better into 54.
To be able to fit it, sink the chest into the water a little bit. Which is something you already should either way.

Right as Geci said, you need to sink the chest down for it not be floating on the water. Choosing a smaller tile will make it much easier to finish.

Update to 54.
