Happiel said posting here would be better to get crits and tips so here I am!
![]() I started with these. I'm aiming to create a train conductor and a captain, based on the "traveller"'s pilot-ish look. Got two very helpful edits from Noburo and Pistachio and this is where I am now. Reading proportions is my easily my worst skill so even now I'm not sure it actually fits in the style. I added back bright glove-fingers to the conductor because I think it relates more with the traveller. I also tried making her fatter but in widing the sillhoute too much I think I actually lost some of that effect? Not sure. I'm also considering if I should perhaps give the captain some gloves too to keep them glove-consistent across the board :P |

It's definitely an improvement, it's much more closely matches the style.
Couple things I'll point out. They don't have much of a neck The black guy's arms/hands look a bit awkward. Most of the issues are that I think you're going a bit overboard in trying to add too much detail into small characters like this. Pistachio's edit is a good example of doing hands without trying to show each individual finger. If you try adding too much detail on something that should look simple and clean, it will look too busy and will be difficult to animate. |
