Hello there!
In my game I have a couple of moments when the time passes by and I think about a nice loading screen to make it more interesting. Here is what I have for now: ![]() I think about making a couple of these, make the candle smaller with every loading screen. Here are some examples of the other stages: ![]() Do you have any suggestions how can I improve this idea? |

Flame doesn't work that way. What you really see are hot gases that expand and flow up and cool down, changing color to less hot. I.e. treat fire as a particle emitter, that produces new particles each turn, with initial velocities set to side directions and acceleration set upward.

I think a thinner, round candle would read better. Yours seems to have a square cross-section. Also, wax is transluscent, so some of the light of the fire should illuminate it. Visual example.
As snv said, the flame is rising gases/plasma that first expand near the heat source (wick) and then cool off as they rise. So, the hottest (bluest/whitest/yellowest) part of the flame is near the wick and it should be the widest part, and the cooler parts (orange, red) are further away. Your flame seems to cool off in all directions. To add to snv's comment, which I think is a little unclear: the top parts of the flame should not bend over areas where there is no flame below. As mentioned, the "flame" moves upwards, and as the gas/plasma cools, it shrinks. The only way the cooler part of flame could end up above non-flame areas is in the presence of turbulent air, i.e. wind. |

Nice but try to add lighter color on the candle borders because it look flat.
