v1 ![]() v2 ![]() The character, walls, ceiling and ladder are from the Warped City tileset. The brick background wall is a darker version from a tutorial I have found. The hexagonal tiles is mine. The ones that I am asking feedback for are the hexagonal tiles, the door, cabinet, desk (with computer on top), bed and window. Differences between v1 and v2: * changed background wall from bricks to hexagonal tiles * changed door design * changed locker design

You need to aplply a bit of shadows and lights and would look more alive, also use some restricted palette like DB32 for example

On the hexagonal tiles, the door, cabinet, desk (with computer on top), bed and window I am using Endesga-64. I am thinking of switching it out and making my own palette though. I am in the process of collecting colors from reference images like https://youtu.be/rrZk9sSgRyQ?t=15

v3 ![]() changes: * added some shadows to the locker * added more details to the door * changed the wall back to the first design with patches of smaller hexes (sort of quick fixes to a damaged wall)

I prefer v2. The brick walls kind of conflict with the sci-fi-esque theme.
If you haven't considered it already, I would suggest adding a black border to the character to help differentiate her from the background, and also possibly borders to the furniture also. Secondly the rooms probably need some sort of light source. Once you have a light source, I would use the direction of the light to add additional shading to your furniture and background. Right now your furniture has very flat colors, using only a few shades.
If you want to use flat colors as a stylistic choice, then the ground tiles and ladder should also be redesigned to fit the aesthetic. Otherwise I think it would look better if the furniture had more shades like the ground tiles and ladder does. |

v5
![]() changes: * added more details to the locker * changed the floor, side walls and ceiling to solid black (after all it's a vertical cutout of a building) * changed the ladder to a more silvery color and made it wider * fixed the ladder that was wrongly in front of the 2nd story floor Originally posted by Greycloak ... The brick walls kind of conflict with the sci-fi-esque theme ... It's a building's inside. Why do buildings in sci-fi do have to be with future materials? Originally posted by Greycloak Secondly the rooms probably need some sort of light source ... I do have to add some lights.
