So this is my first time using colours in pixel art, everything else I did so far was 1 bit. So I was wondering: Am I doing this correctly? Any pointers, tips, ease of life are welcome!

It looks quite good, colors feel harmonious, my only advice would be to sketch the entire silhouette of the octopus in flat colors to keep track of how the overall piece may look, keep the great work!
