Studying further tutorials, and trying to let this pixel nonsense seep into my brain. ...I'm not sure if it's getting in, though. :D

Started with a sketch found HERE. Just so theirs no controversy, this is my own work. >.<

Working w/ photoshop CS, and yes, you can bite my head off for not using a proper pixel program. BUT. Let me assure you, that I am using the pencil tool, @ 1px throughout the entire picture. No cutting corners, just not my style.
I prefer this program because I mainly do CG art, and am relativley new to pixel art. :D

So, without further ado (and random explaining of myself) x__x
My current WIP of Makii.

No transparency yet. I have the sketch on the bottom layer, w/ trans.underneath when I've finished the entire piece.
I know their are jaggies everywhere. I still haven't gotten the knack for smooth lineart. Once I've mastered that, it's on to anti-aliasing. ^_^

C&C is very welcome.
And I WILL take it to heart, *lolz*
I promise no rushing into the gallery this time. :D

First of Photoshop IS a proper pixelart program. Its using filters and FX that's not cool. layers, pencil tools and fills are OK.

The only thing that looks really off so far is the feet. On the front leg the bigest/fattest toe should be to the inside to match the back foot. On the back foot the tiny toe is wierd looking. Minimize the size I say.
The hand has two pointy fingers and three squared ones. Fix that.

Tools used while pixeling in photoshop: 1px pencil setting, 2 layers (sketch+lineart), and fills where there are larger areas. :3

As for the proportional details on hands + feet, duly noted :D

Makii revised!

I changed the structure of the feet, so hopefully it looks more anatomically correct :3
Thankx, Jalonso. ^_^
++ shading, not sure if I should add more contrast & hilights?
I'm still figuring out how to pixel-shade, but concepts are starting to form. >.<

again C&C would be fantastical ^0^

Oooh. And I got to experimenting too.
Made a 'lil animated sprite. It's not gallery worthy, I don't  think. But it was fun to make!
She's kind'a chubby. o___o;

BTW. I won't have internet access for a month and a 1/2, so if it takes me a looooong time to respond, I'm sorry! Life's just hectic @ the moment *lolz*
