Hi everyone, I am a bit new when it comes to pixel art. So any comments or criticisms are extremely valuable to me :)
Those sprites are for a side on tactics game of mine, so I'll probably be sharing my progress here with you folks too :P Pallet was taken from an old Snes game... forgot it's name in English. Just one thing, about the black outline... I am afraid I couldn't do too much about it in the meantime ![]() ![]() Thanks everyone Para Edited by Para - 17 March 2007 at 6:20am |

They look pretty good to me, if anything you used too many colors on both these sprites.
One thing to remember about black outlines is that sometimes they are needed for the sprite to be seen in-game. Depends on the BG used. |

At this size, using black borders to 'draw' your sprite beforehand just wastes too many pixels. You're better off at this size to do a silhouette of the person, then just fill in the details and colors after. Works for me anyways. :)

![]() To Omegavolt: Thanks a lot for the advice, I tried a darker version of the fill in color and somehow it did not work as well as I thought it would... I might try again later to see how it works. To jalonso: I tried to cut the colors down on the new sprite... Hopefully I'll try to limit each sprite to 8 colors. ...and about the two frame walking animation, currently it works. I'll work on four frame soon. -Para |

There's something funny about the 1st one's helmet... it looks oddly huge... maybe shorten it a tad?
