Yeah, I noticed that my original artwork had me
as a young boy almost smiling while the grown
up had a more neutrual look.

It is one of my dreams. Maybe someday I will
paint it once more but than the grown up is
more like a brick statue. I painted this
in between a statue and fleshlike style.

I've attempted to make the young boy
more diagonal as it was.




Any more suggestions?

Your background as a painter really shows here (meant as a compliment).

Are you planning to make another pass to smooth, clean up, and AA? Because my only crit so far is that it's sort of messy.

Oh, and very nitpicky: zoomed, the tip of your nose seems kind of flat, like it should be more bulbous. I think it's the speculars around the tip rather than right on it that are bugging me; makes it look like it has a flat surface on the end of it. [/ramble]

I think your avatar should be a piece of paper and a pen. Or even better a quill. 

Actually the fact that you write a lot is a good thing, a very good thing. I like it when people give long in-depth comments instead of short one liners. I'm not afraid of a little reading.

That's why I suggested a piece of paper and a quill. 

Taking my quill up again to write you all about
a new update.
I've attempted some AA and tried to get the
expression right on the child and the grown up.

Hello Metaru,

Thanks for your edit.
I've tried what you have suggested with the eye.
Your edit was a really large pupil. I moved some
pixels to the side but then it looked like I was
crosseyed. Then I did a lift of the eyebrow and
let the rest of the face do a semi-scary look
to the left but that felt wrong.

It is supposed to be a child in a grown-up
head. The grown up is the person that was
built by the boy inside.
It doesn't feel right if the grown up 'knows'
and checks out the boy inside.

I did try your suggestion but sorry that I have
to decline.


There are some pixels in your edit that I
implemented. The mouth and some removal of white
in the eye-corner.
