Pixel Joint Forum: Birdie Close-up

Message

   Inspired by Indigo's "Spectra Bird" I decided to pixel a bird of my very own. :O but after looking to LandShark's "turtle dove" for inspiration, i find myself still completely stumped on how to go about giving the feathers a feather-like texture.

	yes well the ref is a front cover of a National Geographic which i'll find the direct link to sometime soon, but for now, i've made an update

	Hi L3m0n, When you are referring to this I would suggest to use a real photograph as a reference. It is better to have real life references than someone elses take on real life. Best regards from M.E.

	actually M.E. the reference i was referring to when i said a "national geographic cover" was literally a national geographic issue cover, cuz my dad subscribes to those for a couple years now and i just stumbled upon THIS issue:

	nice one. I think in you actual piece the beak is actually too much disconnected by the rest of the face. I'd add more dark feathers in the backpart. got it?

	I'm sort of hoping for something -semi realistic/semi cartoonish. That may sound impossible but Hey, thats birds for ya.

	Hi L3m0n5, The beak goes further in his head. His head should be half the size wider. The image before the noodles had a nice feather structure. But I would avoid the heave highlight on the front since that looks more shiny instead of featherly. At least you are daring to try different things which is really awesome! Keep up the good work!
