Does a mockup count as a scene?

Awesome question not planned for. I hope cocefi settles this detail soon. I would think not as a gut feeling or mockups would have been mentioned. Hold on the mockup for a bit.

Hey everyone, I made some adjustments to my submission (again). I tweeked Heavens stairs and on the doorway to hell I added a thresh hold and changed up the backdrop on the otherside to the doorway.
Thank you for the comments and hope to see more.

@Mavric, I know how it goes because we all like to share and get feedback on our work. It usually works better for you if you wait as long as possible before submitting entries or at least till you feel its 95% there. Not doing this will end up hurting your entry because:

Very few go back and revisit entries and much less remember the old and make new judgement and evaluation based off that versus the new version, blah, blah, blah...too much involvement, ya, noes.

This is not to come down on you or tell you anything you've done is wrong. This is just advice in general for the ways PJ members tend to operate. This comes from being here a long time.

If your personality type is one that cannot let go easily on pieces and revisit them often then, in the future, use the forum and post updates till you're bored or time runs out. Many an entry has been hurt by constant updating after submitting.

I have been known to have WIP threads running for ages until everything is ironed out. People like to help and more often than not great advice and tips, hints come along. Usually, from the one you least expect.

Anyhoo, your entry is great and I'd hate for you to hurt yourself.

*This is written with apprehension and in the event that its called for, excuse my uncalled for opinion.

Ah, good question, never thought about that before. I would have to say no, since we're already quite late into the challenge and it'd be best to keep the entries consistent. Sorry! :(

You can always draw inspiration from this challenge to make a kick-ass mockup for the pixel gallery. :)

@lucas_irineu
Nice idea! It's shaping up nicely. Do you plan to fill up the dark areas with a background? A dark/fiery rocky cavern background might be a nice addition. :)

Doesn't seem to be too many entries for this weeks. Are we expecting a late surge of lurker submissions?

i was thinking about making a nice nature scene where a woman goes into a lake to drown herself... the coat would float on the water like blood to show her coming death.
but this "door structure" thing prevented that. i don't like that constraint. me thinks, that generates lots of scenes everybody has seen a thousand times before.

Sorry about the limitations there! It's a shame that you couldn't enter because of it. Initially the idea was for people to focus on the gate design (was hoping for some really creative ones), rather than the interpretation of the challenge title... but I guess we all prefer more freedom in our creations. Thanks for bringing it up. :)
