Honestly, I dislike the idea of posting an ad requesting an unpaid assistant, especially on a site full of great pixel artists--professionals included--and people I don't know. However, I'm doing it anyway, because I would really like some help with this project.

Job Info
I'd like someone to make some of the various technological sprites required for a free Nintendo DS homebrew game I've been making, known as Rendezvous Delano. It's a shmup with many elements taken from Metroid, including specific enemies, specific upgrades, and Samus's ship.

I have been using placeholders like these for quite a while:

...and those are just about the largest images in the game (next to the beautiful wrecked ship being made by Metroid Zapper).

DeProgrammer is probably the only team member you'll interact with. However, the team (ie. past contributors who aren't necessarily committed) also includes Metroid Zapper, Troid92, Liksmaskaren, Emperor, and Kenji Imatake. (See website for profiles.)

Why? You can surely make it all original art.

I am currently in a huge ole artistic block so maybe this is perfect to break the spell. PM me.

Well, none of the art is ripped. I meant that the designs were taken. I really like the Metroid series, as do most of my friends, so I'd rather it be a Metroid fangame than a game that won't get much of an audience. :P

Sure, I'll post my whole graphics to-do file here.

Boss 0/1 graphics. It needs separate flaps (and those colored triangles will likely be covered by them), and I'd like it to be a sort of golden color.

Ship graphics--tilting (morph ball and normal) and death animation (crack and tilt) and damage recoil animation (front tilts away from screen and to one side a bit--need one for each side and maybe two for the back), plus varia and gravity revisions

Nebula (some huge tile-able red gaseous stuff, which is applied with partial transparency...will need an in-depth discussion to explain this stuff)
Zapper needs a bunch of metal poles extending from it, and preferably a rotating animation.
(It's a bland sphere right now.)

Item container needs polished.
Another type of turret, which is mobile: no aiming animation (also needs death explosion) preferably around 25x25
Space Pirate Cruiser--I'd like it to be fairly large, and it needs a couple sideways-pointing guns on each side (also needs death explosion) preferably around 32x50. See this image for colors: http://img17.imageshack.us/img17/6748/enemy3.png
Something like a kago and its spawn (both also need death explosions). Think http://metroid.wikia.com/wiki/Kago, but possibly more mechanical.
Sentry drone--can have lots of animations, like strafing and gun recoil (also needs death animation and explosion) Preferrably around 32x32. Think these first few images.

Magnet-enemy (also needs death explosion) preferrably around 12x12
Version of the asteroid with gun(s) inside it, plus a popping-open animation



Some kind of ship that would shoot wave beams from just to the side of the windshield. Plenty of freedom here. Needs an explosion.
Another kind of ship with missile bays. Needs an explosion.
Second boss, with a fragile nose. Best around 64x128. Should have a gun or two on each side. Will be rotated to face up half the time, so it'd be fine to have two differently lit versions. (Placeholder shown below)




It'd also be nice to get something more fitting to replace my old metallic flying saucer sprite. I have no idea what I want for that, though.
