This is my first post and attempt whith pixels... so i picked up something simple i guess.
Just a candle.. an excuse to try and light things up. its a bit rough yet and kind of untidy in the edges.. ... i dont know what soft do u ppl use... i have photoshop.. besides i still dont know if its better to define edges or smooth them whit antialising... in photoshop i do that by deleting with low flow and op brush. i dont know what do you recommend.. considering im a newbie... i tryied startin a human figure from scratch but its to complex to handle.... yet. anyway thres my first one.. no backround surroundings.or contet ![]() http://img4.imageshack.us/i/candlepixel.tif/ |

Pixelart has to be a gif or png format. Your file is a tif so we can't see the pixels. Please correct that then post here.

OK, so its a good thing you started out this simply because this is not pixelart :(
I only pixel using Photoshop so that's fine to use. However you have to set up Photoshop for pixelling. You'll find how to do so in the gallery's link section and the resource section of the forum (do a search for them). The basic thing is that very few tools are used and NO filters NO brushes NO auto generated Anti-alias (AA). In pixelart all AA is made by hand with the pencil tool only! Matter of fact in Photoshop you use the pencil tool, the marquee (tolerance 0) the fill bucket and that's about it. Pixelart = One pixel at time or better yet every pixel placed is controlled by you and not the software. In case it helps I pixel with one window at 100% for viewing and I work on another window at 800% this way the BG grid is 1pix in size. EDIT: You can use layers of course. Bless them layers! http://www.byond.com/members/PixelArt/forum?id=7499 Edited by jalonso - 11 November 2009 at 11:03pm |
