Hello everyone! I've been working on this little hair edit for a site called Midorea. I'm liking how it's turning out, but I want some input from you pixel gurus. Here's what I have so far:

I like how the left (our left) side has been shaping up, but the right is bugging me. Comments on how I can improve would be great.

The piece is limited in terms of colors and AA. If it were to be used, it could have no AA (it would mess up other items attached to the 'doll'). Plus, the site's style for hair generally consists of about 5 colors. I've only used 5 so far, but I want to incorporate highlights which adds 2 more to the palette.

(Ref is in the image... durr... XP)

C&C appreciated! <3

She's going to topple over, check the center of gravity. While you're at it, check the perspective on the feet.

You've got too much hue change in there IMO, and not a lot of value(light dark) change.

The base is not mine and it can't be changed. It's from midorea.com, which is an avatar site, and is very specific the way it is.

So only focus on the hair. ^^

[ Edit ]

Slight update. Cropped it down to show less base and more hair, since the focus shouldn't be on the base. XD

Oh I'm sorry, hadn't dead that.

The argument about hue change vs value change still stands though, there's even less value change in the hair.

Having pumped up the contrast, you can see that the hair lacks volume. All parts range from the brightest to the darkest. You need some overall-lighting. I made a paintover of that too, but I wasn't sure what the bulge on her left (our right) was supposed to do.

Should we comment on the face?

Ah, now I see the major error in my colors! Will up the colors and use some more contrast. :)

Yeah, idk what the right side is doing. It's just multiple levels of jacked up.

No, the face is theirs too. I just added it so I could make sure the hair wasn't covering up the face. :P
