Hi!
I'm trying to get back pixeling again, so i've started toying with some ideas for pixel ilustrations, and here is one called "strange [videogames] love"
Do you recognize all characters? (i think it's easy)
I must finish lineart for the hunter and make some props in the scene (coffe table at right), then i'll start coloring the piece... were i'm not so good :P
I want to give the scene a dark mood, perharps adding light and shadows as they comes from a fireplace in the room...
Any tip or advice on how to start appling color would be great (other comments are wellcome to :D )

Hi!
It's 512x384, my plan is convert it to a crude 2x zoomed 1024x768 to have a pixel wallpaper
I know this is big, but i'm commited to finish it (and look nice :)

Oh, you have a plan, nvm then :) I would suggest laying out everything in as much detail as possible first before getting too involved in lighting and coloring.

What's up with Sonic?
My tip - blockout the room, before doing lineart for the characters.

About sonic... he is too fast, so the hunter only could get a foot... may be next time... :D
When i was planning the trophies and i thought about sonic i found funny to have only his feet and not his head, as everybody knows sonic's sneakers (in a side note i also thought about putting Lara's chest, as it's also distinctive, but being the only character with chest, and all the rest only head... was weird)
About your tip, you mean drawing all background to get correct perspective and ilumination settings?

There's a few issues with your reasoning:
-sonic on one leg isn't that fast anymore
-when you run, the legs (and arms) move the fastest and the most irregular/hardest to predict
-legs are a lot smaller to shoot
-animals that have their leg shot off don't generally live long
About the room, yeah to get perspective and illumination in place.
Instead of:
Do this:

This will give you a fast idea of how the final image will look. It'd be a huge waste of time if you did a lot of work on the lineart for the heads and later found out that the lighting doesn't work well.
In this case, I'd probably use spheres for the head, and some simple boxes for the furniture.

Hi!
Here is an update:
I changed the hunter to be more young (and more suited as an actual game player, and not a Wii player :D )
I'll follow the tip from Snader for lighting (good examples), but i want first to finish basic lineart (without details) so next is hunter's hands and armchair
Oh... and about details on why there is the foot of Sonic instead of his head... well, i find more amusing to have his foot as a trophy, although very simple, everybody can recognize it instantly, and i'll let people guess about the circunstances where the hunter got it :)
