CHALLENGE: Top Ten

Make a top ten list based on a subject matter of your choosing and represent those things in the form of a piece of pixel art. Just make sure it's clear what your list is, what items are in your list and what order they are in (everything should have a number between 1 and 10). You can add these details in your description if you like.

The way you present your top ten is up to you; so you could scatter your top ten around a large canvas or maybe animate it in the form of a countdown. Just keep in mind that even though the canvas size and colour count are unrestricted, you needn't go overboard.

A few possible ideas to get you started:

  • Your top ten movies of last year.
  • Your top ten favourite foods.
  • Your top ten IKEA products that contain an umlaut it their name.

Your list may now include a minimum of 3 items and a maximum of 10.

Canvas size - Unrestricted
Colours - Unrestricted.
Transparency - Optional.
Animation - Optional.

CHALLENGE RULES

  • Participants have until this upcoming Sunday at midnight (12AM Pacific) to /pixels/submit_icons.asp - submit their entry (strict). Don't forget to check the 'Submit to weekly challenge' checkbox.
  • Only new pixels allowed.
  • Open to all members.
  • Posting WIPs in this thread or in new threads in the /forum/forum_topics.asp?FID=8 - WIP section is highly encouraged, but ONLY SUBMIT YOUR FINAL ART.

CHALLENGE JUDGING

  • Every Sunday at midnight (12AM Pacific) the previous week's entries are judged.
  • Every week a new voting poll will be posted for previous week's entries.
  • Winner announced the following week.

CHALLENGE PRIZES/GOODIES

  • Top three finishers will receive an award displayed in your PJ gallery profile for all to see and envy.
  • Top finisher gets to call the following week's challenge...sweet.
  • 'Participation' ribbons will be given for all who enter.
  • No matter what happens you get challenged :)

I've been looking for references and color palettes so far. I'm starting the first layout sketch about... now.

Top 3 bands, I can't help but feel that it's too small now looking at the other too WIPs. But whatever I did what I could with it. I drew the logo's and their most iconic album. Although with Led Zeppelin that could have been 3,4 or Physical Graffiti too. I decided to just pick three of the most influential bands on me and my preference in music.

Any crits would be nice.

update on my project  :



The silhouette on the right is going to be chrono, I  but I haven't got around to completing it. I hope you can recognize the one on the far right. It's hard to do a super punch out sprite because the actual game sprites are already that big so it feels almost as if I'm ripping the sprite instead of recreating it.
