My idea is "Marine - The Last Stand". Inspired in the game StarCraft and Doom:

HYDRALISK AHEAD!
This is the final result.

The gun itself isn't too bad- a bit blocky- but I'd say the issue is that it takes up more a quarter of the screen. Something along the sizes of Felipe's would be more appropriate.

After making this

you go for Mario o.O

I would spend as much time and dedication on the first. It could be so much better pixelling skills wise. A little AA a bit of mossy green/grey stains, more refined green LED panels. Overall 'wetness' on the creature. Some secondary colored lights...dude, you are like 75% to a great piece with little work.

* to be honest its been in the queue for 2 days and I haven't added it cuz its screaming for a little more time...we will if you slack on it. Its good.

I agree FelipeFS, this can be a great piece if you spend some more time on the hydralisk, and possibly change the floor color to seperate it from the walls.

I made a new version. I reduced the total of colors of the weapon(Most used mainly for AA effects). There are two different palletes:

Dark version:

Biege version
:

I personally prefer the dark version.
YOU, who speaks English, make sure the sentence is written correctly, please. =)

I also prefer the Dark. Perhaps a chat window for the radio comm? the text is hard to read in my opinion.
