Me and a friend made this today online with OpenCanvas, he did the arm/shoulderpad and i did the helmet and face.

We intend to finish these separately (since we cant continue online once one of us quits) and then add them together with photoshop

took us 4 hours, no reference, 2 pee-pee's and a bottle of soda

Wow! 2 pee-pees???? Incredible! :D

No seriously, I just love the decorations on the helm! That is one nice coloring job your doing there...

My main issues are with the lack of finished line work and the anatomical distortion.

Anyway, keep it up!

heh the lines are just sketches, they will all be gone in the final version, yay! =D

as for anatomy, the arm is not my work, and the poor guy allready has redone the arm 2 times, so unless anyone here can help him/us out we'll just stick to this... the guy aint human anyways :P

or did you mean anatomical things in the face?

Wow, I didn't know you could actually draw so well. Respect.

I feel like moths sh*t.

Actually, I meant overall. There is too little space between the eyes and he the character seems to have a big head, given the angle of the torse and shoulders. Forced perspective is a neat trick but real hard to pull.

Also, the nose lacks nostrals ;) Since you have him screaming, the muscles pulling the mouth connected to the nose make the nostrals a little wider so we should see them a bit, even if you got something covering them.

The helm lines should follow the natural jaw of the character. Right now, you got the helm looking like it's 2 inches wider at the jaw region than the actual jaw line of the man/humanoid creature ;)

As for the hand, we should see more of the palm than the thumb. Also the fingers are a little short and stubby.

So basically, it's just couple of things here and there. I could go on but since it's unfinished, there things you might correct so it'll only be a bother to write it down. ;)

Keep up the good work and show us the results!

when you regain sanity =P

Guert:

i'll look into the jaw issue.. maybe i'll make his head smaller but wider, like.. chubby something (hey not all warriors have top bodies =P)

the nose shouldnt be hard to fix, and neither should the eyes be, since they are both still very basic

but i thought the key rule was 1 eye between the eyes?

come to think of it.. i might make his eyes a bit bigger so he looks a bit more like a midget or something.. you know, to compensate the small arm
