CHALLENGE: The United Cakedom

There was probably some kind of notable wedding recently, who knows. Just in case there was, we should bake some cakes to celebrate, well, actually, how about we pixel some cakes instead?

You can pixel any kind of cake - it doesn't necessarily have to be a wedding cake. Any kind of cake that can fit into a 72 x 72 canvas is fine. It can be a full cake, a slice of cake, a cupcake - up to you. It would be a good idea to tell us what cake you're making in your description, a recipe would be nice too :o

Just so we're clear, no backgrounds; just the cake on its own, served on a transparent background.

Canvas size- Max 72 x 72.
Colours- Max 12.
Transparency- Required.
Animation- Optional.

CHALLENGE RULES

  • Participants have until this upcoming Sunday at midnight (12AM Pacific) to /pixels/submit_icons.asp'>submit their entry (strict). Don't forget to check the 'Submit to weekly challenge' checkbox.
  • Only new pixels allowed.
  • Open to all members.
  • Posting WIPs in this thread or in new threads in the /forum/forum_topics.asp?FID=8'>WIP section is highly encouraged, but ONLY SUBMIT YOUR FINAL ART.

CHALLENGE JUDGING

  • Every Sunday at midnight (12AM Pacific) the previous week's entries are judged.
  • Every week a new voting poll will be posted for previous week's entries.
  • Winner announced the following week.

CHALLENGE PRIZES/GOODIES

  • Top three finishers will receive an award displayed in your PJ gallery profile for all to see and envy.
  • Top finisher gets to call the following week's challenge...sweet.
  • 'Participation' ribbons will be given for all who enter.
  • No matter what happens you get challenged :)

This is my WIP, I think I might crank out a few, as this came together pretty quick..  My fav.  Carrot cake.

Ag182:  Not sure what the blue thing in center of piece is.  Ring?

I just got in a fight with transparency and I think I may have won, but I'm not sure. The color I set to be transparent was not fuschia, though.
Fuschia makes my wip look even worse than it already is. 
 
If this isn't acceptable as a cake I may have to consider forgoing this week's challenge.  It's basically a frosting covered cake with a few marzipan leaves stuck on.  If an elaborate wedding cake is acceptable, I don't see why this wouldn't be.

Been a guest lurker / wannabe pixel artist for a million years; this is the first thing I've submitted here, or ever, really.

It's a melktert (milk tart). Still WIP, and I need to drop a colour. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. I know it's not really much to go on, but I'm sure there are a million technical things I'm getting wrong.

I don't know how to do transparency on Vista MS Paint oh noes!... Please someone help...but anywho, heres my cake... I call it, "I Am Yours"...don't ask me what kind it is, let alone the recipe... I don't eat cake... I eat cheese cake which is an awesome pie, of which everyone should try...please tell me what you think of it...and how would I submit it to the challenge?... I'm such a loser!... Heheheee... :-D

@Ruski, try to work on your palette a bit. The yellow ramp is especially weak in that it has very little contrast and all reads as one color. Experiment with the colors. Watch the outer edges this needs to be on a trans BG and you have some ugly jaggies there. Look at member_profile.asp?PF=20887&FID=1 - God_Is_Evil , member_profile.asp?PF=32219&FID=1 - AG182   and member_profile.asp?PF=4978&FID=1 - Biffo 's above and notice the color ramps have enough contrast to help define the cake.

Final version of "THE DIABETIC KILLER!!!"
Invented by my father in law's grandmother
 
Ingredients:
- Raisins
- Egg white mousse
- Strawberry jam
- Rice sweets (the green thing)
- Cake mix
- Milk Caramel
- Condensed milk
- Shredded coconut
- Wine
 
I know it looks a little messy, but that's how it looks in real life
 
EDIT: The transparency count as a color! I have to eliminate one
EDIT2: Fixed!

I have tried to make it transparent but .PDN isn't compatible. so wich file sort is compatible with imageshack and can be transparant?

Did you submit it? I don't see it in your gallery :( If you only posted it in this thread, then unfortunately it won't be in the challenge. You must submit it to the gallery and then check the Weekly Challenge box for it to be included.
