I like! My cloud-drawing skills need development, and this is a great chance to develop'em :)
I would also like to see a3um entering this one as his cloud-drawing skills are sky-high (pun intended) :D |

 Dunno how to continue or how to detail it... Also, question; is it allowed to use old assets (that you've made yourself) in the challenge piece or does it have to be all new? The clouds there are "old" assets. |

Challenge accepted. I'm still overloaded with work and barely worked in Medici lately : S but I liked the challenge idea and somehow I managed to do this:  It's a WIP. I need c+c about the piece. I don't like the foreground, the background it's more or less ok for me. It's about 28 colours or so, I've not finished the cleaning. |

I'm thinking of doing a piece where the clouds in question are actually clouds of smoke (ex: "the clouds of smoke" from somebody smoking a cigarette.) Would this interpretation of the word "clouds" be alright for this challenge? |

Why should anyone build the city above the clouds? To escape the smoke. |

Sooo yesterday evening I got tired of waiting for a response regarding whether I could
interpret "clouds" as "clouds of smoke" and I've been working on this: hehe I was kind of peeved earlier when I saw http://www.pixeljoint.com/pixelart/62111.htm - this piece because I don't want it to look like I stole Chibiwing's idea of putting a face on a cloud... anyway, I've never made a mock-up before, and I'm having a lot of trouble with it. I want the city to both appear to be in the background, yet have enough contrast to be visible, and I want the entrances (exits? : P) to be very clearly NOT a part of the background. As in, it should be clear for the player that they can interact with the doorways, but that they cannot interact with the buildings in any other way. I also attempted to make a sprite of a little character for the first time and it's a lot harder than it looks! I'll have to keep trying. EDIT: I can't tell if this is any better or not  |

I can't see either of the pictures, but I don't care if you put a face on a cloud; I won't consider it plagarism. ^_^ Especially if you say you had the idea before you saw my entry.
