Hey everyone!

I just got into pixel art a few weeks ago and so far
this is my third pixel art piece. I'm really into
architectural drawing so the only things I've really
drawn so far have been isometric. I'm basically just
finishing up the major line art in this one and I wanted
to share it with everyone here to get some constructive
criticism.

I don't really have much of an idea of what colors
I'm going to use yet but I wanted to make sure that
this looked okay before I started moving on.

Let me know what you think!

The lineart looks pretty solid from what I can tell. Most people new to pixelart/iso just make a box building, so this is nice to see. Anxious to see the colors, no crits, proportions and angles all seem fine to me.

Yeah, I've also seen a lot of iso buildings that
are basically just a cube. So I tried to steer
clear of that and come up with a building that
had some character and a unique design.

I guess I'll start getting a rough idea of the
color palette I'm gunna use. I was thinking
of going with a set of grays for the building.
Regardless, I'll update this thread with the
new drawing once the colors look decent.

I'm in pixel art for a pretty long time, but hadn't made any isometric building jet. I did an cube building because I wanted to make a cowboy styled surrounding. But I think you did the line art pretty good here, everything is allright. Now make it colored!!!

Very good to see some inspirtation and not the infamous "cube" as mentioned above. I can't see any crits, will be looking to see where you take this.

Just started adding the colors. I couldn't think of a color except gray that would look good on that kind of building, but if you have any ideas let me know.

I don't really know yet if I like the sidewalk/concrete squares, so again if you have any suggestions, I'd be happy listen.

Thanks for all the feedback everyone!

P.S. what's a good image uploading site that won't direct you to the upload link when you click on the image? It's starting to annoy me..

It need's colour! Be as extravegant as you want, you can get away with it in isometric buildings.

tinypic.com is what I use.

Yeah, iso buildings generally have ridiculous colour schemes as a rule, but if you don't want to do that, you could go for a tron-esque grey/black/dark blue and neon-blue colour scheme?

I use myfrogbag, not signup, no hassle, fast uploads, and just generally the easiest option i've found, more so even than tinypic. Plus it doesn't link when you click the image.

What I usually see in isometric pixel art is crazy colouring and wacky designs. So I think gray might be a little too plain, unless you want it to look normal rather than silly. But good shading and amazing design, and if that's only your third piece then I'm jealous of your talent.

Very few things are ever grey, black, or white. I promise you most buildings have a tint of color in there somewhere.
Try using a grey-blue for the building and see how it looks. Color makes half of the image, so experiment!
It's looking great, btw. I like where you designated no outline to certain parts of it.

Thanks for the feedback everyone!
I went with a grayish-aqua color that I
found on this iso building from here:

Hahaha, it is funny that my stuff still inspires people ;). I already recognize more of my own style in your work, but now I know where that might be coming from!

Make sure you add in some color! A building in all the same color might be realistic, but it gets boring after a while. Of course you don't need to change the color of the building, but then you need enough colorful objects/people around :). Good luck!

Haha very nice isometric buildings by the way. They're very inspiring! :)
Yeah, I was looking for a nice realistic building color besides gray.

And don't worry about it being boring, I'm gunna add some scenery
like hedges or trees. Things of that nature :)

Found a bit of time to work on this a bit more.
I attempted to find good colors for the windows that
went well with the building's color.

I've shaded all the windows facing to the left
as well as trying to dither the circular part.
(first time I've ever dithered..)

I'll work on the other windows when I get another chance.

Please let me know what you think!
