Looking fat isn't a problem, I think his head actually needs to be smaller so it matches the body. As it is, the torso isn't long enough to match the head and the legs and possibly arms are too short as well. I scaled this famous drawing from leonardo so that the head sizes would match pretty close.

So it's about the same size head, but the proportions of yours look more like a dwarf in comparison.

Although even if you were to make the head smaller, the legs would still need to be longer to match the torso.

Here it is again with the torso sized to match.

The head on leonardo's drawing is smaller than yours and the legs are still longer.

the weird belly guard thing makes him look kinda fat. ref for that?
also legs are very short, that's the most glaring anatomical problem to me.

Thanks, but what do you think about the shoulders?
And now he has long and thin legs it makes him look kindoff female. ;(

The belly guard was inspired by this:

I think the shoulders look good. I don't see the legs as being female at all. Actually compared to the reference they're still both shorter and thicker.

Update, made the head smaler, and the feet manlier. And working on the "skirt" now.

Thanks for the crits BTW.

looks much better. the head might actually be a bit too small now (heh), but if you're going for a sort of giant-from-the-ground perspective, it works.

anatomy and pose still seem off to me
shading also needs some work imo... especially on the 'skirt' it makes it look like its rather concave then convex
also the dithering isnt doing it for me on a shiny, metal surface....
heres an edit...
scaled it down to make it easier to work with.

i tried to make him look more stable and grounded, and tweaked anatomy...
also shifted the perspective a bit lower to increase the dramatic effect

Thanks onek, I'm going to finish the background first then I'm going to take a look at this ;).

How is the sky now? Should I delete the darkest color?
Any suggestions for the stuff in the foreground?
