To post pictures here, use the pic's location (http:// etc etc) and insert it in your post like this [ img ] http: etc etc [ / img], only without spaces in the code.

I'm sure you'll get more response if you post the picture directly.

For now, looking at the sword, it looks quite flat. Usually the swords have some sort of edge or bulge along the middle. This edge reflects light and casts shadow. Try looking at some swords in the gallery for inspiration.

Hey so i'm still wrassling with the picture posting, what website (http:etc) should i use to host my image? because when i use the *insert image* it says "Error loading preview. Make sure the path and filename are correct." when i use the deviantart link.
also, i kind of want to the sword to have a flat look, it's supposed to also be a surfboard. But i'm wondering if the highlights/shadows along the edges help?

http://photobucket.com/ - photobucket is a good image host. When direct linking to an image make sure that it's the url for the image and not just the page the image is on. One way of getting the url of an image on a website is to right click it and, depending on which browser you're using, select an option that says something like "copy image url". You can either type in the code for posting an image or just click the tree icon right above where you type a comment and put the information in there.
