Hey guys, it's me here and need some help shaping and forming Napoleons hair(for a personal project).
What I have now is a pretty simple shape but I need some tips and suggestions on how I can develop the highlight to show that it isn't just a flat bunch of pixels.
Thanks in advance.

reference could help alot to see how shadows and light goes on the hair. I think its neck is too thick.

using a reference? neck should sit further back (think about where the spine connects to the base of the skull), cranium should be much larger (ergo taller forehead), ears should be larger and perhaps a bit higher.

You probably need 1 more color or two on the hair.

Draw the shape of the head before the features.

Hey, here is my reference as you see it's quite hard to see the neck so I had to improvise.
And I didn't really plan to have a neck on him but I realized that it would look better.
