CHALLENGE: Ghost Pixography

Show us a scene with a ghost in it.

Note: There must be something that clearly suggests the presence of the ghost in the image. Check out some of http://www.ghostresearch.org/ghostpics/ - these photos for some inspiration.

Canvas Size - Max 300 x 200. Either horizontal or vertical.
Colours - Max 25.
Transparency - No.
Animation - Optional.

CHALLENGE RULES

  • Participants have until this upcoming Sunday at midnight (12AM Pacific) to /pixels/submit_icons.asp'>submit their entry (strict). Don't forget to check the 'Submit to weekly challenge' checkbox.
  • Only new pixels allowed.
  • Open to all members.
  • Posting WIPs in this thread or in new threads in the /forum/forum_topics.asp?FID=8'>WIP section is highly encouraged, but ONLY SUBMIT YOUR FINAL ART.

CHALLENGE JUDGING

  • Every Sunday at midnight (12AM Pacific) the previous week's entries are judged.
  • Every week a new voting poll will be posted for previous week's entries.
  • Winner announced the following week.

CHALLENGE PRIZES/GOODIES

  • Top three finishers will receive an award displayed in your PJ gallery profile for all to see and envy.
  • Top finisher gets to call the following week's challenge...sweet.
  • 'Participation' ribbons will be given for all who enter.
  • No matter what happens you get challenged :)

I'm willing to bet money that someone is going to do a pacman scene. XD


I do have an idea but I'm all tapped out creatively. If someone wants to, by all means go ahead and make my vision a reality.

I may do an animation of a night vision camera catching a ghostly soldier turning into an orb and flying out of view.

I've not posted the bad guys at the Joint before - they've been on my WIP thread that I was aiming to finish before Halloween. The Scooby gang is up already though (hence redoing them). Can I not post the bad guys as part of the challenge?

The idea is that you're supposed to make something specifically for the challenge, within the timeframe of the challenge (i.e. you have to make it this week). That way, the challenge isn't won by someone who has a finished pixel piece of a ghost on their hard drive that they've been working on for three years. Wouldn't really be fair.

The glow above the grave looks like a lake in the background. Maybe you could add something like a lens flare?

The challenge is always to conceive, design and pixel in a single week.

The fold on the shirt on her stomach seems awkward, almost like there's a giant tumor or something. The rest is good though.

Here's my WIP, so far it's just a skull with a pipe and top hat lol, but it will have a ghostly body when I get round to it. Hopefully I'll get this finished in time.

I've already posted mine, but I think it needs some more work.


Any suggestions? And please be specific. I really need help with the hair, but I have no idea how to shade it... if anyone has some good ref pics that they can link, you are a wonderful person.

EDIT: I've made some improvements. First, I gave him a shirt, and second, I totally redid the shading. I still need help with the hair though.

I'm not good with hair either, but I made an edit to make things look a little better that doesn't involve the hair.



I also added another color for the shirt. Maybe also put a few wrinkles in it too. I just didn't because I'm on a very limited schedule.
