So I was searching through for Final Fantasy sprites on the site out of curiosity and came across my old sprite from 2009.
I cant freaking stand to look at it anymore. Washed out as heck, and the anatomy and all is just so wonky! So I decided to give it a quick edit.... thats more of become just remaking the damned thing. Still fairly rough and unfinished, especially the winged eyeball, but Im out of time to work on it for the moment and thought I'd see what you folks think. New on the left, old on the right. 
So yeah, any critiques or whatever are awesome :) |

Nothin so far? I know this thing is far from perfect :B
Animation to easier compare the last and this one. 
edit: Well imma wait a while before I post this in case I find anything I dont like about it or anyone wants to chime in. Though I did find it really fun to put this version up against the 2008 and 2009 versions. Also, looked at the official art for the monster and found out they have two talons and a tail. Funny that I didnt notice that the last two times I pixeled it... 
*think i might edit the tail a bit. could be confused for another foot talon thing as it is |

I whipped up a little scene for them in the Mandalia Plains. The first random battle spot you can fight on, the field i DEFINITELY spent most of my time on playing FFT (yay powerleveling!), and it didnt need any new colors! wee! 
Still open for any critiques, but ill probably post it sometime in the next day or two if no one's got any for me |

I really like the platform and the rock, they look great. Keep your dark background its really hard to see the details without it. I didn't edit much but I think the girl's readability needs some tweaking. I think your trying to squeeze too much detail into her and as a result it makes the character harder to understand. Such as the back leg should be in darkness so as soon as you see it you know its farther away. Other than things of that aspect it looks great, you've really improved. |
