Yeah... It looks like a toothbrush with a torn handle :)
Maybe you should try to do another form of the blade machete. And no red spots.

Machete has not a protective guard, as it is not weapons of war, but simply a large knife with a wide scope of application.
It is used to clear the roads in the jungle, for digging the ground and savagely brutal murder >:D

P.S. @Artwark, you still have not made self an avatar :)

Try to make a mega brutal battle swab :D
I think to create your own type of bladed weapons for a lot more interesting than trying to replicate anything, as you know only the words.

Macete examples

that's rude

Artwark, look at the edits Yuran made. Look at references. Use less saturated/more natural colours.

Do not be so sharply I think Artwark very young beginner pixel artist, this could repel interest in the whole conversation in the VIP.
Artwark, you need to learn more tutorials,
and before you do something new, you try to collect more information - it will give you a clear idea.

Its true that I'm a beginner but I've decided to take drawing as a hobby rather than a profession. I'll work on the machete though.

I've trimmed this thread a bit.

Artwark: please don't double-post. I realize you're eager to get feedback, but sometimes it can take a while for people to respond.

CakeDrake: your reaction was uncalled for. Let's try to keep this a friendly learning environment.

I'd really like some critique on my last machete now? Its been a while lately?

I think to improve you need to worry less about the patterns you're trying to incorporate and rather try working on getting the forms and silhouette correct before working on anything else.
Before, after

From the silhouette alone I can see which one looks more like a machete, and as you improve over the year(s) you'll notice that's an important aspect in all art mediums.

Its hard to get this right as you begin, so I implore you to use a reference next time. It only takes a few minutes to open a new tab and search google images. I hope that helps. There are other things you could improve, but one thing at a time, right :)

U saying the one on the right is the real machete?

But yuran made three machete types. so I thought I'd go with the first one on the left. But now that you mentioned it it does look a bit better except for the case maybe.

Yes, yes I am.

If you compare his silhouettes to yours, they still look more like the real deal.

btw, what you call a case is actually called a sheath. If it were a case it would be larger than the machete. The sheath I made took into account sliding the machete in, which is why the base is wider that that of the machete.

How about now?

Thats a lot better! But now the sheath wont fit, so that would have to change too.

Getting better. Try more interesting colors and more contrast.

umm can someone here explain to me a little of what exactly contrast means in pixel art? I didn't get that one very well.
