CHALLENGE: Martian Curiosities

As you're probably aware, the http://www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/msl/index.html - Curiosity landed on Mars last week - so, we're asking you to pixel a scene showing what curiosities the rover might encounter whilst on Mars. The more far out the better.

You must also hide the http://www.tikirobot.net/wp/2012/08/08/the-curisosity-rover-pixel-art-logo/ - Curiosity's pixel logo somewhere in the image - It doesn't have to be red, but it does have to be just one colour. Also, no flipping or rotating!:

Dr. Who is awesome.
I would love to see someone do Curiosity running into Wall-E. Just throwing that idea out there.

I have an awesome idea! Does it have to be the exact same hard edged shape, or can it be more rouned?
Edit: Here is my WIP, I am using the logo as a land formation.

Dang, I had to add in the logo last minute when I read that it had to be one color. Well, there goes the concept for mine.

You have to use those exact pixels in your piece somewhere.

Yeah, this is what I thought, that exact pixel alignment of a single color should be in there somewhere right? not scaled, flipped or rotated.

Not 100% sure on the scaling actually. I'll check. Other than that, yes - no rotating or flipping, must be of a single colour.

The one color thing is what really messed up my entry. I was halfway done, then I re read the rules and realised that it had to be one color, so I had to add it in last minute.

how does the flat base of the cross like thing sticking up vertically connect to the building when the apex of the building isn't flat?

Posted By: philippejugnet
Date Posted: 15 August 2012 at 2:31pm
It is behind the building, I guess I failed on that perspective effect..

I checked, no scaling the logo either - needs to be at 1x res

Explain to me please about this work. The 11 pixels red silhouette should recognize it in the picture.
Is it possible to do so that it was only a small element (the part)
huge robot for example?

Of course to do it so would this silhouette was visible and recognizable

P.S. That it was not a silhouette of one thing, and that was just part of the subject. If it is not clear written before...
I hope my question is not too sloppy transferred

@Yuran: You can draw whatever you think the mars rover could find in mars. And you must include this exact arrangement of pixels, without scaling, rotating or flipping, in a single solid color somewhere inside the piece:

WIP : Curiosity's adventure !

Critics anyone ?

tell me the last explanation for me, for example, which of these sketches is suitable for this CHALLENGE ?

Posted By: Dredlockz
Date Posted: 16 August 2012 at 9:58am
@ Yuran: All of them, as long as you include the pixel logo in it's original size. The first image you made has the logo, but it's scaled up, so it doesn't count.

"Also, no flipping or rotating!"

Doesn't say no scaling..?

Yuran - none of them I believe

@ Dredlockz: He's pointing out the unscaled version

I think Yuran is just pointing out where he has hidden the logo in the first one. All three ideas are suitable, so long as you have hidden the logo somewhere.

little explanation

You need to hide this literal cluster somewhere in your piece, much like the egg shape in - this challenge . You don't need to interpret the logo as something in your piece, or even have anything at all to do with the Mars misson.

MIND BLOWN

also...

...it does have to be just one colour. Also, no flipping or rotating!

Which means that you can scale it but not imply it's presence with a similar figure.

I'm using colors similar to a piece I made a few months ago to show some improvement over the last few months :3

No, you can't scale it either.

Didn't have enough time to polish it enough, but here is the final thing:

The only good thing to come out of this was the tardis, I liked the final outcome, and that's where the curiosity pixel logo is in, can you spot it?

Here is my entry, no one had made anything animated, so I wanted to give it a try: http://www.pixeljoint.com/pixelart/72338.htm - http://www.pixeljoint.com/pixelart/72338.htm

It seems to be stuck in somekind of of waiting for approval limbo, though.

I completely fail to understand why my entry piece is still waiting for approval...

First of all thanks for clearing the picture in time, so that I can participate.
As I answered to http://www.pixeljoint.com/p/35277.htm - philippejugnet
in the comments section there's no real reference image, the basic layout is from this image http://yaymicro.com/stock-image/rocky-desert-landscape/1568640 - http://yaymicro.com/stock-image/rocky-desert-landscape/1568640 - the rest is adlib directly from head or rather hand.

NASA news from 19th of august:
Mars Science Laboratory/Curiosity Mission Status Report
PASADENA, Calif. - Today, NASA's Mars rover Curiosity fired its laser for the first time on Mars, using the beam from a science instrument to interrogate a fist-size rock called "Coronation."

Too basic for gallery (and under-researched to what the thing should look anyway), but I HAD to scribble something stupid!
