Hello everybody, I am Brazilian, not very intendi how to do this challenge, is to make a game?

No, you need to make the image (character), and put in it the feelings that arise in your two chosen words.
I hope Google did not fail

Não, você tem que fazer a imagem (personagem), e colocá-lo nos sentimentos que surgem em suas duas palavras escolhidas.
Espero que o Google não decepcionou

You draw an image depicting a game. Not the game it self, but a 'screenshot' of a would-be game. I think the challenge
description needs to be updated as mockup is not a that common term and can be taken out of the game context?

I'm having a hard time grasping the rest of the words listed as art concepts. Can anyone explain how each of the words can be translated in a mock up? It sounds like an interesting challenge, but I really fell that it's cryptic.

Aw man, I was doing terrifying and elegant and your mockup is already better than mine...
Here's mine so far anyway:

Yes, yes you should.
The psycadelic stuff happens after he eats the pink mint.

Uses 4x4 tiles.

Terrifying Prehistoric Oregon Trail. Obviously very rough and all the colors are stand-ins, not sure if I will have time to get more done.

Oh, i have made a few sketch.

Yay, a little update.

Why am I such a bad planner? Very often in works that I do I get ideas along the road and then I bump into problems I had not seen at the beginning... (rolling pin women can not be finished therefor)

Anyway, here is my image of a dancing dino, who is doing Dance Dance Revolution.

However, if this were a real game then the interface part would be way more important and the dino would be on the side or so. This is a terrible game interface..
Does anyone have a suggestion how to fix it, or do you have another game idea featuring a dancing psychedelic dino?

Couldn't you make only the guy dance and possibly turn the arrows into dinosaurs? Keep the psychedelic strobe effect. Add in some cave backdrops with a disco style and you got your prehistoric psychedelic mock-up.

Yeah, that would be an option but it would mostly mean restarting. I am looking for a solution to use what I have now!
Not because I spend too much time on it, just because I like it so far :). I might continue outside of the challenge

Aye, aye, maybe i gonna have to increase the canvas size. Oh, sorry for my bad english. D:

So I'll make a try cuz I was avoiding posting challenges while doing them for myself -_- then deleting everything I made!

It will be a runner game "whimsical and terrifying". Yep, there is going to be blood and stuff but I need to finish an enemy and few other things.
I got too much excited that animation is allowed so here is a rough sketch:

I'm still thinking about color palette and some effects. I know that her run cycle is weird and fun cuz I'm doing it right now lol Her head is stiff and one leg longer than another.
Woah! I'm so scared to post here ^_^''

That looks really cool so far atpalicis! But are you using a semi transparent layer for the lines? I'm not sure it is allowed

Posted By: atprises
Date Posted: 30 August 2012 at 2:29pm
I'm not sure either!! I feel like it's better to add some texture to the trees because they look so plain and at the same point I want to keep them plain. Have to think about it

Ha, I don't stand a chance, my game mockup looks simplistic and boring.

Is it even worth entering now O.o I've seen so amny good ones, haha!

Then post it in the thread, maybe somebody can give you some useful ideas/ critique!

Posted By: Yuran

@eclep: I think that it can be used - I do not think it hurts style pixel art

@atpalicis: I like your idea, but I think that you can add the effects of old shabby film (an old movie with Charlie Chaplin).
You just need to complete the cycle of running and add animation of the her head and other her parts - she seems a puppet (perhaps this is a plus)

I still don't see how this is a mockup, but it fits under prehistoric psychedelic!
