CHALLENGE: Horror Matrix

This week you are tasked with pixelling a monster from the list below combined with one of four genres/themes. Your entry can be anything from a comic, to a mockup, to a full-body portrait; just as long as both monster and genre are clear.

Monster

1. Mummy
2. Vampire
3. Werewolf
4. Swamp Thing

Genre
A. Romance
B. Western
C. Comedy
D. War

Canvas Size - Unrestricted.
Colour Count - Max 32.
Transparency - Optional.
Animation - Optional.

CHALLENGE RULES

  • Participants have until this upcoming Sunday at midnight (12AM Pacific) to /pixels/submit_icons.asp'>submit their entry (strict). Don't forget to check the 'Submit to weekly challenge' checkbox.
  • Only new pixels allowed.
  • Open to all members.
  • Posting WIPs in this thread or in new threads in the /forum/forum_topics.asp?FID=8'>WIP section is highly encouraged, but ONLY SUBMIT YOUR FINAL ART.

CHALLENGE JUDGING

  • Every Sunday at midnight (12AM Pacific) the previous week's entries are judged.
  • Every week a new voting poll will be posted for previous week's entries.
  • Winner announced the following week.

CHALLENGE PRIZES/GOODIES

  • Top three finishers will receive an award displayed in your PJ gallery profile for all to see and envy.
  • Top finisher gets to call the following week's challenge...sweet.
  • 'Participation' ribbons will be given for all who enter.
  • No matter what happens you get challenged :)

My WIP so far,

It's supposed to be Vampire/War but I don't know if the war genre needs to be stressed more in this, and if so I'm not quite sure how.

I think if you swapped the far right native with the far left native it would feel a little more balanced. Currently there is a little too much green on the right-ish side.
Also not a huge fan on the mouth on the leftmost Native mummy. It might look better without it perhaps?
And the shoes and hats (specifically the cow-boys) might need some work (but it is a wip, it just looks a little funky right now.)
(Am I brave enough to critique our lord and master? )

It's a swamp creature in love with a mushroom!

I might change it now or perhaps we could see each others own interpretations of it. I suppose that saying might be true, great minds think alike!

@crozier, if I didn't want critique and feedback I wouldn't post the WIPs here, right? :D (plus I'd have totally submitted the version with the typo error cause I no speak english very well)

anyways, your comments are all valid points. I don't know about changing the hats and shoes though (I intentionally made them flat and as simple as possible), but the color balance on the whole could use some, well, balancing :)

I'm in! Making werewolf and war stuff.
I don't know if I'll finish and submit this piece but whatever. Here is a wip (very rough sketch of the idea), werewolf-girl that walks and cries cuz war is sad and it's no fun

at least the challenge will keep me busy this week and I won't have sad thoughts lol

@Mrmo Tarius - I love your piece so much!! It reminds me of a game Duck Hunt. I'd totally shoot all those mum-cowboys hah)) keep making it!

I'm still working on it... it appeared that I just can't draw that stick with flag and other stuff. I have a day left to finish it lol and I'm not sure about the palette.
