CHALLENGE: Isoamerican

This week, in order to celebrate the upcoming 13th B'ak'tun; you are challenged to create an isometric piece which depicts a Mesoamerican pyramid, or a pyramid inspired by actual Mesoamerican pyramids.

Canvas Size - Unrestricted.
Colours - Max 21.
Transparency - Optional.
Animation - No.

CHALLENGE RULES

  • Participants have until this upcoming Sunday at midnight (12AM Pacific) to /pixels/submit_icons.asp'>submit their entry (strict). Don't forget to check the 'Submit to weekly challenge' checkbox.
  • Only new pixels allowed.
  • Open to all members.
  • Posting WIPs in this thread or in new threads in the /forum/forum_topics.asp?FID=8'>WIP section is highly encouraged, but ONLY SUBMIT YOUR FINAL ART.

CHALLENGE JUDGING

  • Every Sunday at midnight (12AM Pacific) the previous week's entries are judged.
  • Every week a new voting poll will be posted for previous week's entries.
  • Winner announced the following week.

CHALLENGE PRIZES/GOODIES

  • Top three finishers will receive an award displayed in your PJ gallery profile for all to see and envy.
  • Top finisher gets to call the following week's challenge...sweet.
  • 'Participation' ribbons will be given for all who enter.
  • No matter what happens you get challenged :)

Hi people!...will anybody be actually doing this challenge? it sounds pretty boing,but it turned out great for me!...so by "no animations" does that mean no animations on the small file and the detailed file,or just on the detailed file? and same question goes for the transparency and color

Well, previews should be cropped parts of the detail file, or at least related to the detail file. So I guess if you really wanted to you could snazz up the preview with animation.

yeah,and by the way i can upload images only up to 100x100 and it says image size unlimited so probably most of the good artists will be doing big images with a lot of dithering,so us who have 100x100 will have no chance against bigger images.

Does the rule "Only new pixels allowed." include pallettes or I can use somebodys pallette (of course with permission)?

Size has no effect on the quality of the image.

100x100 for the  SMALL image (icon). Any size for the actual image.
Started mine, this will take a while.

@AoBaka: you upload a canvas larger than 100x100 in the detail file. Participating is more important than winning. The best artists don't dither.

@rafal: using someone else's palette is fine, just credit where it came from.

@ http://www.pixeljoint.com/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=37340&FID=1 - SturmgewehrKreuz , I think that canvas is too big. It would need a lot of detailing to be done on time and there is little time left. Think smaller canvas.

You might find something like imgur.com a better imagehost that ImageShack for pixelart so that when members click to zoom it doesn't go to imageshack and their crazy zoom/blur madness.
