| @TombReaper: There's no need for that. Just copy the palette image and paste it into your GraphicsGale pic. Then, sample from the pic. |

Oh, I know why. You're file is 8-bit. It changes the colors a little. If you need the real colors, you need to use 16-bit (256 colors) to copy the file. Anything else will mess with the colors. Then, use the HexD numbers (mouse over the squares after selection) from that to replicate them inside your 8-bit pic. You'll have to hard-code them in using the text boxes. That's the only annoying thing about GraphicsGale. |

@underb0ss; first off decide what you want to do. If you want to make a platformer, pick a character and an environment. Then try to make platform tiles suitable for that environment (grassy? snowy?) and put some enemies around. Finally make a HUD, including a health bar etc. |

WIP of my work for the Weekly Pixel Art Chanllenges: Do Not Want, I used 15 colors in EGA palette and using the GUI design: SCUMM. Mock up game graphic adventure of Star wars and other game of Lucas Arts.

Yeah freaking paint decided to corrupt the file, but I've painstakingly recreated what was lost. Yours looks pretty darn cool too! Feels very accurate to games of the era! |

Nevercreature, that looks great, very well thought out. The animation also brings it to life. It's probably why it also seems more viable as a game, it comes over as more interactive compared to all the still images here.
Reo, looks really good, clean and crisp right now, even though its unrefined in a few areas . I like the openness of the scene, and the fact that there is a visible path to follow. |
