Does "real-life animal" also mean it has to behave like a real animal?
I was thinking of a pig bathing in a volcano wearing sunglasses and drinking cocktails...
that's not what pigs usually do, I guess.

Well dolphins don't usually survive in desert either. This challenge is looking for unrealistic scenarios.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who decided to put animals in space. This is my basic concept.

Mine was going to be Moose on the Moon but as the moon seems to be a common theme I will have to think of something else!

Don't put the penguin smack dab in the middle. If I learned one thing in photo class is that when you have a scene like yours you never place the subject in the middle. He also looks a little large in relation to the dunes, so make the dunes bigger

I'm going with the lynx in the city. I'm not sure how i'm going to depict the environment (maybe rooftop vent),
but here's the WIP.

@Erstus: I think a Lynx could survive in a city, eating rats, little dogs, pigeons, maybe a hot dog. Perhaps you could put it on Mars or the surface of the Sun.

@reimon_pingol: you hit the "Insert Image" button and then put your image URL.

@Erstus: Well it would be a shame to waste that nicely drawn lynx, just change the scenario

@coloringsquared:
Not sure if T-Rex is considered real-life animal and i do think it could also survive in a city. (I made a same mistake with my lynx at first. )

And my new WIP:

I'm really liking how you're doing the fur effect.
On his chest however, I think that effect should be toned down a bit around his chin. You're starting to lose the distinction between chin and chest. Play around with it a bit :)

What I see in Erstus's picture is a lynx in say, a spaceship, on a screen relaying info back to the home base; that is why there are the horizontal lines because it is on a screen viewed back on the planet. I would add just a space helmet and add some finishing touches then I know I would love it.

Still working on this. I don't know if it'll be done on time though. I won't have time to work on it this weekend.

Yep!

The reason for that is because it's an image that would work better using the golden rule of thirds.

Here's a good tutorial: http://www.cgsociety.org/index.php/CGSFeatures/CGSFeatureSpecial/phil_straub_composition_tutorial

The golden rule of thirds is basically a grid that divides the canvas in three even sections. Things placed in the intersecting areas, or on the line of the intersecting lines is where your eye likes to rest. It's all sciencey and sh*t.

Thought I'd share this cause maybe someone else gets something out of it too.
