CHALLENGE: DuskTaker's Palette

Can you create something with it?

Canvas Size - Max 160 x 120; either horizontal or vertical.
Colours - Exactly 16.
Transparency - No.
Animation - No.

Thanks to everyone that suggested the idea of a DawnBringer palette weekly challenge.

CHALLENGE RULES

  • Participants have until this upcoming Sunday at midnight (12AM Pacific) to /pixels/submit_icons.asp'>submit their entry (strict). Don't forget to check the 'Submit to weekly challenge' checkbox.
  • Only new pixels allowed.
  • Open to all members.
  • Posting WIPs in this thread or in new threads in the /forum/forum_topics.asp?FID=8'>WIP section is highly encouraged, but ONLY SUBMIT YOUR FINAL ART.

CHALLENGE JUDGING

  • Every Sunday at midnight (12AM Pacific) the previous week's entries are judged.
  • Every week a new voting poll will be posted for previous week's entries.
  • Winner announced the following week.

CHALLENGE PRIZES/GOODIES

  • Top three finishers will receive an award displayed in your PJ gallery profile for all to see and envy.
  • Top finisher gets to call the following week's challenge...sweet.
  • 'Participation' ribbons will be given for all who enter.
  • No matter what happens you get challenged :)

Gotta use all 16 colors, eh?

This seems as if it’ll serve as a big challenge for someone of my general skill level.

I think I’ll have a little fun with this one, even if I don’t finish anything in time. :)

I tend to use limited palettes/color limits already BECAUSE of my skill level. I don't have a whole lot of experience with making any larger pieces, so I stick with small sizes and limited colors.

My issues come with putting together palettes, figuring out the best combinations of colors, and generally coming up with ideas (without looking at others' works first).

So this will challenge me greatly, and I welcome the challenge. :)

I was kinda kidding.
Using the least amount of colors and the smallest canvas you can get away within any project is for all levels and always the way to go. We all have the same problems with colors and stuff. Its a process and its just about experimenting and trying new things without fear. Seeing how others solve problems saves us time and should be done regardless of experience. Nothing beats looking at others work to improve our own.

a3um@ That looks amazing... I, myself, can't find anything wrong with it. Except I think I kinda went for the same theme :P

Not exactly a WIP, so it means I'm done with my piece. But still... Any tips/advice for the future?

Yeah, it started of as just a wizard going to cast a spell, but that wasn't going so well... Now it's a wizard who enjoys long walks on the beach.

I guess wizards want to go on dates.
