Have you tried looking for some references? It requires some practice to draw different facial expressions that look believable just and only out of your mind. I would advice you, if you're not going to use any references, to make the face as follows: -Eyes and eyebrows are more clenched together. -Muscles are more visible at the place were the eyebrows and nose meet. -Cheeks are slightly higher (thus creating those folds between the cheeks and nose) -Mouth and nose a little more clenched together. -Upper lips are more pronounced. -Higher nostrils. I think that's pretty much it, I probably forgot to mention half of the things I should have, but.. meh..

The original idea was the pixel Sonny from I, Robot when he first discovered what the emotion anger was, but I deviated away from that due to the limit of colors. I couldn't get the look I wanted just from 7 colors :p So now I'm pixeling a weird semi-symmetrical scrappy looking robot whos going to be angry. Ignore the eyebrows xD |

I agree the background is a little too noisy, but I'm too lazy to do anything about it  . So instead I added an animation  .

Please, critique this: I'm new to pixeling. I had a lot of fun making this. I will keep working at this skill. I like Baker-Miller Pink. It is a fascinating example of the effects of color. I joined this site just to enter this challenge. |

New to pixel joint. I used to have heaps of fun doing pixels when I was a kid, 10 years on I've decided to try it again.
This is my progress so far. I'm scared that once I come to attempting the eyes it's all going to fall apart haha |

That would depend, are you entering into the challenge or uploading a work-in-progress onto the forum?
If you are entering into the challenge, you have to save your work as a .png or .gif and click "submit pixel art" on the drop-down bar of the "gallery" at pixeljoint.com (you can also submit pixelart when you are on your profile). As of the time of this post, there is a little over 2 hours left before you can submit your art, and have it in before judging starts. The mods still have to accept it in the public que, and that may or may not take longer than 2 hours. You may not have enough time to make it before judging starts. If you are just showing your artwork on the forum, you will likely have to upload to a hosting site like imageshack (requires an account) or imgur. You then post the direct link in between the code As long as your mac can save a pixel-art file as a .png or .gif, and you followed the restrictions, you should be alright. Hope this helped. |
