Its been a long time since I came here. I just want to know how to improve the shininess of this gem here. is it good or bad?

I think; there is a much better angle you could make a gem like this at :) something with an interesting shape and material like this could be so much more interesting at a different angle and would also be more challenging for you and you would learn more. For example you could try pixelling something like this (not tracing but your own version)  |
