Did... Did a member of the Illuminati win the last challenge? (• •?)

Jokes aside, when you say symmetrical, do you mean mirror images in just shape or in both colour and shape? Also, would it be allowed to make a "tile" and just duplicate and transform that tile?

Edit: If things go the way I hope they do, I feel a tribute coming along~!

Similar questions here:

Symmetrical doesn't necessarily mean exact mirrored pixels here, does it?
So it is allowed to light the scene, for example, diagonally?
And if it doesn't break the symmetry, could the details be slightly variating on each side?

If You are to agree, may these questions inspire you..

My understanding is that it's a 50x50 px image which is reflected horizontally and then vertically.

I think this is pretty much the layman's version of the challenge. I might be proven wrong though.

Here's a way in Grafx2 (v2.4) to draw in 4 quarters at the same time : what you draw gets instantly repeated & mirrored :
edit: I misread the challenge size, for 200x200 double all numbers.
  1. Set image size to 100 x 100
  2. Clear the canvas
  3. Grid settings (Shift-G) : 50x50, Snap:no, Show:yes
  4. Open magnifier pane and draw a small figure like this (4 pixels at center)
  5. Open Effects window (E) and right-click Tilemap
  6. Tilemap settings : Check "Detect mirrored" - Horizontal:yes Vertical:yes
  7. Draw away!

Maybe this one is better.

I miss the greens in the BG. It was a nice light to dark kinda shift- perhaps a little more contrast back there (with your current edit)?

hmmm....I like the colors of the first one but the facial expressions on the update. I may therefore be unqualified to help.

Good colours.
I think the character squint to much.

I did everything as written, but Graf2X still isn't able to draw in quadri-whatever. It draws fractal, but that is not what I want

Do you think that a reflection in a lake sticks to the subject ?

Correction: max 100x100 px image which is reflected horizontally and then vertically.50x50 is ok as well.

Nevercreature's image perfectly examplifies what's being asked for.

Petruszka, I can't really imagine where it goes wrong... When you say "It draws fractal" I imagine there is some kind of pattern repetition, but not the one needed here ?
When you activate the Tilemap mode, the program analyzes the image to guess the pattern, so you have to start with an image that can only be interpreted as "4 times the same tile : one normal, one flipped horizontally, one flipped vertically, and one flipped on both axis".

When I apply Tilemap it draws exastly as if without tilemap. I followed your post very carefully so I don't know what could be wrong.
