You are going great.
The water reflections are still too strong. Make that palette much softer. The BG on 2nd version is too overpowering, no :/ ------------- |

This is some of the finest 'traditional-looking' pixel art
I've seen recently. Like Jal said, you seem to be doing fine? I do like the extra background in #2, but I think it's too big. Instead, try making a narrower bit of land, having the dark shapes of the coast tapering along the crescent moon. Rough edit:  ------------- ▄▄█ ▄▄█ ▄█▄ ▄█▄ |
