Hello everyone,

IMAGINE a game where you and your friends run a business in real time...

1. Start the game working for players and NPC's and get paid a virtual salary to pay your rent, customize your avatar and buy a car.

2. Start a business. Buy a building, trucks and planes to transport your merchandise. Hire a work force to manufacture and deliver it.

3. Expand your business to a new location. Rent a billboard. Socialize and explore. Buy a private island and recline as your cash cows graze and you make the transition from million to billionaire...

Imagine a world like this...

That's the game at it's core: a living, breathing isometric visual masterpiece.

WHY JOIN

This is a project for people looking for artistic freedom. If you want to do pixel strippers let's do pixel strippers!

ABOUT ME

I'm in college studying architecture and if you know anything about architecture you know that at entry level you don't get to design what you want. For me, this is an opportunity to realize my building designs and create something that people will enjoy.

This concept is like a game of hide and seek... it can go in so many different directions.

I believe that on some level this game will appeal to everyone from people who crave rich character customization, to people who want to feel like the boss, to people who just like the art style.

We can continue to add new content and use current events to stay current. This is realism and fantasy in one. This is... where I would put the title if I had one.

MILESTONES

1. CREATE the city itself (people, buildings, flora, fauna, ocean, clouds) so that we have something to show potential investors and beta release a single player prototype to test the business simulation.

2. RELEASE the game free to play (with options to buy content) on all mobile platforms.

YOU GUESSED IT

I haves... no moneys. But I believe this will make money. When you join the team you sit at the table. If by some freak accident you manage to work harder than me (not possible) you will earn a bigger percentage of whatever money we make. I'm fair and flexible, but since I have to speak english so do you.

WHO WE NEED

1. PIXEL ARTISTS
     - can create isometric and top down sprites
     - create people, flora, fauna, vehicles to scale
     - can follow art style, proficient at shading
     - can create building, streets, clouds, ocean, and landscape tiles
     - can create faces in detail
     - design UI

2. PROGRAMMERS
     - code camera / transitions between outside and inside views
     - knowledge of mobile app development and GUI
     - knowledge of the best engine to suit our needs
     - code weather system, shadows, npc's, character customization
     - solve technical problems
     - code UI

3. ANIMATORS
     - animate people, vehicles, objects and scenery

4. WEB DEVELOPER
     - develop a website to post our dev blog and progress

5. LEVEL DESIGNER
     - balance business simulation
     - balance number of npc's with players etc.

This is such an original idea! I especially like the part where you are able to make money and become a millionaire!
It reminds me of this other game I used to play: "First Life"

Also, you seem to be an experienced organiser and planner, being able to create such a clear list of people that you require who could create your dream game for you for free, with all you having to do is the communication!

If you are really serious about this dream, I consider learning 80% of the skills required to build this game and then start building until you are at 50% of the work done before you try and lure in others.
Of course it is possible to move others to build your dream game (see OPP project!), but if you don't do it with the proper preparation you will just be an " http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Ideas%20Guy - Idea Guy "..

Good luck with the city of your dreams!

Wow your one sophisticated cockroach. I'm going to resist the urge to publicly embarrass you, but just barely.

Haha fair point! I should have mentioned that I'm actively working on this project as we speak and that I'm going see it through whether or not you or anyone else decides to join.

I'm black... I'm not looking for slaves. I'm looking for partners and team members who should expect me to return the favor on their project. That means character art for your game... scott-free.

It's funny cause I'm looking for people who love pixel art on a pixel art forum but can't find nobody... Anybody who believes that I won't pull my fair share of creating tiles, characters, etc doesn't know me.

Nothing is original anymore no citation needed it's the twist you put on it that makes it yours. As I mentioned, I'm an architect student. Do you honestly think that if I can design buildings using actual specifications and professional software, elevations, site plans, etc that I can't create pixel buildings? Please, my background is in art. This is what I do.

Don't give me that "it's his first post, he doesn't know what he's doing idea guy bs" without at least having a cool blog lol

There are tons of people on here that do pixelart for fun (as mention before by Hapiel see the OPP), it's just that a big portion of the people on here need money to survive so it's not like they can just give out their skills like candy.

It seems like you're saying "I have an idea but I don't know programming, gamedesign or pixel art so I need you folks to do it for me".
All in all it's not a bad idea to have a dream game that you want to make but it will be significantly harder to gather people if you don't really have any of the skills that you need to make a videogame of this scale (programming, game design etc..). Having any of those skills will also help paint a better picture of the world you want to make, a few broad ideas and a few pictures for inspiration aren't enough.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that you shouldn't make this game (as it does sound cool).

"As I mentioned, I'm an architect student. Do you honestly think that if I can design buildings using actual specifications and professional software, elevations, site plans, etc that I can't create pixel buildings? Please, my background is in art. This is what I do."

You may be able to design buildings in pixel art but will you be able to make them pleasing on the eyes (making nice colors and all that jazz)?

"Don't give me that "it's his first post, he doesn't know what he's doing idea guy bs" without at least having a cool blog lol"
Usually when you're asking for people to dedicate their time in life to a project you usually want to have something to show them (I.e A blog for some or a portfolio for others). This may not be the case if the community that you are asking for help from is already familiar with you.

Sidenote: You have seem to come off as a bit rude in your last post

EDIT: after reading what Hapiel said again it seems that I may have listed a lot of things that he already listed in his post, so apologies on that.
