I feel like I've done the highlights wrong on some parts. Maybe it's too bright? My monitor sometimes makes colors look VERY different from eachother moreso than others.

I wonder if I should shade each individual scale.

Thoughts?

Very cool shading, I like the texture. The face is very cool too; it looks angry.

The texture is pretty nice. You could try shading each individual scale and see how it looks, I think it will look even more kick-ass

I think perhaps this would look a lot better if you didnt highlight along the outer edges of the lines. Right now there is no lightsource at all and the body just looks completely flat in most places, especially the tail. The texture is nice though :)

@Saboteur: She did not make the lines. Either read the description fully, or atleast leave a more helpful comment.

Alright, I finished coloring each individual scale. But I still feel like he looks 2D. I wasn't really sure what to do but I tried this to see if it looked better.

I think it looks less 2D but there's still a 2D feel too it that's kind of confusing. I'm not sure how the light would fall on the bottom half if it was overhead.

It looks more like a panorama in the second view. Your problem is that you're shading with chunks. That's good for a start, but you need to take into effect curves of the shapes too, like the one on the back. It should have a dark spot fading into the mainly lighter surface. The tail, too, looks like a carrdboard cutout.
