Couldn't find a hair tut but... oh well. I finished it up as much as I'd like to do with it.

The orange skintone in the left one really bothers me. I'm not sure which looks better. The left looks more natural, but perhaps a bit too dark and the one on the right looks too yellow, especially in the highlights. Somewehre in between the two would be best, I'd imagine.

Hair can be cleaned up with AA, so AA it and everything turns better. There are things that need to be AAed, one thing is certainly hair on that picture, wether it would be the new or old one. But I personally prefer the new one.

Do you think I should overlay one over the other to find the right color. I have a hard time making pallates, ESPECIALLY skin in particular. I try reading about color theory and choice but I haven't really seemed to grasp it.

No, in this case, it is not about style, but it would actually fix the pic. I am not talking about AAing the edges, but AAing the whole piece, that dither is just not skinnish also.

I disagree. I've seen dithered skin before. I think it's my pallate choice at fault here rather than the dithering.

As for the hair, I'm actually working on improving that, but still. You just said AA. You weren't really specific on what to AA or why you felt that way so it seems like a pretty useless comment.

Specifics is needed only when one specific spot is commented, I commented overall piece.

Dithering is right on the nose part, but lower part has some weird dithering on it. Yes, obviously it seems that the orange colour doesn't fit into the nose shading. Shadows should be something blueish-gray on that piece and that dither can be AAed fine, but that is only my point of view.

But yeah, I should have added some specific into my post, as it appears, I apologize.

I prefer the older one, the colours on the new one look far more un-real and odd ^_^

AAing the hair could make the picture look odd, seeing as in the style Aleiav has dithered most of the image. You could try having larger blocks of shade and highlight (like in manga) on the hair, which you could dither. I'd also neaten up the left strap on the top, as it looks a little wobbly.

Ah no biggie. :P

Thanks for the crits, both. I thought this was done but apparently it needs more work... lots. Hope to have an update soon but I've got school and the like, which sucks. I'll do me best.

So I mixed them both and took some crits.

Thoughts?

I'm not really sure if I like the hair but I'm not all together good at it.

the hair's shape is a lot better. you lost the energy you had with the older colourschemes though.

You like the hair shape? Someone told me it looked like plastic.
