Hey guys,

I'm still unfamiliar with what meets the community's standards. So, I would like to run my piece with you guys.

So far, the biggest flaw I know of is the proportionality of the wings. Other than that, I can really use some advice and critique.

Thanks!

It didn't get through mainly because it's upscaled weirdly, which is a technical mistake. It seems to have been scaled by 240% or something, instead of 200% or 300%. Because of this, there is a lot of interpolation, extra colors, and it's no longer a nice crisp piece over which you have a lot of pixel control. Should be easy to fix though if you still have the original at 100%.

However, I would say the piece itself can use some extra lovin' too. There's an awful lot of black in there, the blue on the armor doesn't work well with the yellow ramp. The yellow ramp overall could be optimized, as can the white/grey ramp btw. There's a lot of jaggies on the wings, and I don't think some of the detailing on the armor/weapon works. And the wings/feathers I don't like much at all. It's not bad, proportions and pose are quite okay, but it's very messy and sloppy.

To be more precise. You can scale pixelart up even though its not needed with the zoom feature in the gallery and the forum ( the -+ thingies under all art). To scale instead of using a % use the dpi of the pixelart (usually all apps have 72dpi default). To scale up twice as big or 200% use 144dpi, 300% use 216dpi, etc. This keeps the pixel ratio true.

The reason this was most likely sent back is because you scaled far too much to even make out what it is because for the most part you have controlled the pixels. That said though, the wings have some uncontrolled pixels her and there and the contrast is very low between the green and white. In pixelart that green would be considered a 'waste' and is seen only because of the zoom.

So yeah, its ok and many take quite a while to be at this skill level so there you go

Instead of deleting and resubmitting as new its better to use the 'edit it' under the art to upload a revised pixel.
